General Membership Meeting
June 10, 2014
Meeting called to order at 5:00 pm by Vice-President Frank Beaty.
The Minutes of the May 2014 meeting were approved.
In Don Kasper’s absence, Dave King gave the Treasurer’s Report:
We currently have 122 members and a balance of $704.31in the treasury.
The only additional projected expenses are $180 for flowers and bagpiper for the annual Crystal Cup memorial service in September.
Projected year-end balance is $523.31
The MGA donated $40 to Hook-a-Kid on Golf.
TIP OF THE DAY:
Kenny Evenson’s tip of the day was to “attack the inside of the golf ball.” Check your divots to see your swing path and adjust accordingly.
NEWS FROM THE COURSE:
Vice-President Frank Beaty updated the current status of the golf course.
Filling in divots on the course and on the driving range continues to be a problem. He urged members to use the sand bottles on the range and on the course to fill divots.
Construction has begun on the new training area and new practice green.
OLD BUSINESS:
The June tournament will be held on June 26 at Pointe South and the July tournament will be held on July 21 at Mount Vintage. The fee for Pointe South is $32 and the fee for Mount Vintage is $50. Details for both are on the website.
The Wreaths Across America Tournament will be held on June 23 at Houndslake. Fee is $65, including lunch. Give your checks to Tony Venetz.
The Cedar Creek Golf Club will hold a RED, WHITE, AND BLUE tournament at 9am on July 5. Format will be scramble threesomes with one black tee male player, one gray tee male player, and one silver tee woman player per team. Mike D will arrange the teams based on handicap. Lunch is included.
The MGACC Match Play Tournament will held on November 14-16, 2014. Limit is 32 players.
NEW BUSINESS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Mike Snug, the organizer of Par Fore Parkinsons, thanked all MGA members who played in the very successful event.
There will be another course cleanup day on June 24. Volunteers should gather at the clubhouse at 7:30 am.
The Crystal Cup will be held again this year in September. No firm dates have been set yet.
