General Membership Meeting
December 9, 2014
Meeting called to order at 5:00 pm by President Ken Brace.
The Minutes of the November 2014 meeting were approved.
Byron Vanier gave the Treasurer’s Report:
We currently have 86 members and a balance of $1352.13 in the treasury.
TIP OF THE DAY:
Kenny was unable to attend the meeting, so no tip was presented.
NEWS FROM THE COURSE:
Vice-President Frank Beaty was unable to attend the meeting, so no new information was presented.
RULES UPDATE:
Bill Robinson went over the rules about casual water in bunkers, which are a subset of the abnormal ground conditions rule, Rule 25. Essentially, a player can:
Play the ball as it lies
May drop the ball in the bunker within one club length of the nearest point of relief, no closer to the hole
The ball cannot be re-dropped unless it rolls closer to the hole.
The ball may be dropped outside the bunker with a one-stroke penalty
OLD BUSINESS:
The MGACC Match Play Tournament was held on November 14-16, 2014 and was won by Ray Naramore.
The December tournament will be held at Gordon Lakes on December 11. Cost is $45 and includes range balls, golf, lunch, and prize money. The format will be straight golf.
NEW BUSINESS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:
The next meeting is on Tuesday, January 13.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:27 pm.
