General Membership Meeting
May 10 2016

Meeting called to order at 5:00 pm by President Richard Stamm.
Minutes for Apr 12 2016 meeting were approved.
 
Treasurer’s Report
         We have 123 paid members – no new members since last month.
         Beginning balance: $1,851.18 – ending balance: $1,851.18  
 
 
News From the Course
         On schedule for back 9 demolition and reconstruction.
         The Front is maturing – Frank is working on pulling weeds, filling in low
         areas with topsoil, etc.
 
 
General Discussion
         Dave Beveridge presented a discussion and explanation of handicaps: How they
         are computed, managed and used to make the game fair and enjoyable for players
         at all skill levels. Dave recommended the MGA assign a Handicap Coordinator to
         manage score information for MGA events.
 
 
Old Business
         Ray Naramore reviewed the results from the Cedar Creek tournament held in
         March. Ray presented his analysis of results based on handicap (low, mid & high)
 
 
New Business
         Ben Peppard discussed the new security measures at Fort Gordon. He recapped
         the upcoming two course tournament (Fort Gordon &  Mount Vintage)
 
         May 24th @ 4pm the Silver Bluff High School Golf Team will come to Cedar Creek
         for a 9 hole scramble. After the competition we will have a hamburger style dinner.
         The MGA will pay for the team’s food.
 
         There will be a tournament to help Hugh Ray’s son. Please participate if you can.

 
 
         The MGA will donate:
               $100 to Art Sotak for his work through the K of C for local Vets.
               $100 to Par Fore Parkinsons (Hole Sponsor)
               Sponsor a team for Wreaths Across America.
