General Membership Meeting
August 9, 2016
The meeting was called to order by Vice President John Moynihan at 5:00 pm. John explained that President Rich Stamm and Secretary Dean Spiro could not attend the meeting due to other commitments.
The July minutes were approved.
The treasurer’s report was given by Treasurer Don Kasper.
Beginning of month balance: $986.18
One new member dues: 10.00
Expenses: .00
Current balance: $996.18
Membership: 127
News from the course:
Frank Beaty was not at the meeting. There were some general questions and discussions from the membership.
Rules Update: George Montgomery
George covered rules pertaining to “searching for a ball”
Results of previous tournaments:
Midland Valley (Ken Sabol).
The Reserve (Ray Naramore). An explanation was given as to how teams were put together. Also, some statistics were given regarding general play.
Upcoming event: Bill Ely
Bill Ely will be the tournament director at the next MGA tournament being held at the River Club on Thursday, Sept 8th at 9:00 am.
MGA Officer Nominations:
Nominations for officers for the 2016/2017 year are being accepted thru August 31st. You may submit your nominations to any board member.
Donations:
Donations collected for the course workers totaled $1300.00. This was divided among the six “grounds keepers” giving each $216.00. Thanks to everyone who donated as a way of saying thank you to Jim and his crew for improving the golf course for everyone’s enjoyment.

Crystal Cup (red and blue)

50/50 Drawing:
This was the first 50/50 drawing for the MGA. A total of $86.00 was collected, half going to the drawing winner and half going to the treasury for future projects. Don Kasper was our first winner collecting $43.00.
Ken Brace suggested that we have the annual Memorial Ceremony behind the club house vs near the 7th green. John Moynihan said we would take up the suggestion at the next board meeting.
The next meeting is September 13th.
