GACC Members:
Below are emails from the two group leaders for our Cedar Creek Wednesday and Friday Tournaments. I want to thank Bill Robinson for drafting the original email.
The latest that I have read from the state health officials is that they are recommending we wear masks when indoors and still keep the 6 foot physical distance. Since I read the article I have been wearing a mask when going into the pro-shop. This is a minor inconvenience.
The largest spread of the virus come from contact with people that are pre-symptomatic and don’t know they are spreading the virus.
I see every day people in the pro-shop ignoring the physical distancing recommendations. This puts the staff at high risk considering how much outside play and the total number of people that enter the shop daily.
I saw this statement this morning:
“I wear a mask to protect you. You wear a mask to protect me.
Please let’s do what we can to keep our golf course open and other essential businesses open in our area.

To All Friday Golf League Players:
The note below concerning the need for continued vigilance against the spread of Covid 19 was written by Bill Robinson and sent to all members of the Wednesday Golf League. With permission from Bill and from Glenn Huey (who replaced me at running the Friday game), I am hereby sending Bill's message to all players in the Friday Golf League.
My database of Friday players includes a substantial overlap with the Wednesday group and many others who may not have played in the Friday group for some time. My apologies for that. However, I believe that the importance of Bill's message is such that getting it to as many people as possible is more important than avoiding any repetition. Thanks for your understanding, and please read on below.

Bill's message:
Covid 19 cases are on the rise in South Carolina. New daily highs have been reported each day for the past several days, and we are all in the age range that classifies us as vulnerable. I am increasingly uneasy in the presence of others, and others in our group are as well. On behalf of all of us, I want to remind you of the habits we need to follow when we are together, notwithstanding the state having relaxed its standards.
Thanks,
Bill Robinson

- Stay six feet apart in the pro shop, when gathered before and after the round, and during play
- Wipe down your cart with disinfectant when you pick up the cart
- Don't touch other players' equipment
- Don't shake hands or fist bump at the conclusion of play
- Leave the flagstick in the hole and concede very short putts
- Wash your hands frequently
Thanks,
Bill Robinson
