Army worms have a habit of appearing at this time of year but thankfully Gary’s early detectionand eradication has resolved the issue. Except for a minor blemish here and there the course is otherwise in very good condition. Preparations – mowing fairways to good height, shortening the roughs, dressing bunkers and waste areas and other touches – are underway in advance of the Aiken City Amateur Championship.
